Subramaniya bharathiyar was born in ettayapuram in thuthukudi district on 11th december 1882 – 11 september 1921. Subramaniya Bharathiyar was a poet, freedom fighter, and a social reformer from Tamilnadu. He is one of India’s greatest poets and he was known as Mahakavi Bharathiyar.

He fought against child marriage, he forcefully opposed the caste system and the emancipation of women. Bharathiyar’s best-known works are Kannan Pattu, Panchali Sabatham, kuyil pattu. His poems are in simple verse and blow your mind.
